The Grand Cruise Terminal is the passenger terminal at Doha Port, not Hamad Port, which is a separate seaport south of the city. Old Doha Port’s terminal says it can accommodate two mega cruise ships at once, each with capacity for 6,000 passengers, and offers 24/7 access along with passport and customs services.

Mwani Qatar identifies taxi and bus stands, city bus tours, foreign exchange, Qatar Duty Free, a café, waiting areas and Qatar Tourism information services among the passenger facilities. Visit Qatar also names free Wi-Fi, ATMs, toilets, shuttle buses, lounges, prayer rooms, an art gallery, a rooftop terrace and an aquarium as terminal facilities.

The arrival-side Aquarium features marine life, while the City Gallery presents an interactive showcase of Qatar’s landmarks and attractions. Doha’s cruise season follows a recurring winter pattern, with activity from November to April.

Checking cruise arrival information

Checking cruise arrival information

Check your cruise operator’s instructions for the details that apply to your arrival and access to the ship. The terminal provides customs and passport services, but access requirements can differ for other port visits.

For example, Discover Qatar’s information for floating-hotel day visits says visitors need a valid Hayya Card to access Doha Port and the ships, and must show booking confirmation to board. Those are requirements for the described day visits, not a general statement about every cruise passenger.

From Royal Mirage, the port is about a 13-minute drive; the hotel offers rooms at this hotel.

How do you get from the port into central Doha?

Shuttle services run from the cruise terminal to Doha city centre, and transport options include Karwa Taxi and Doha Bus. For metro connections, Souq Waqif and National Museum are the nearest stations; buses from National Museum Metro Station are another option.

If you’re heading to the historic market, the Souq Waqif visitor guide can help you plan what to see there.

Visit Qatar puts the drive from Doha Port to Souq Waqif and the National Museum of Qatar at 5 to 10 minutes. The Grand Cruise Terminal’s address is on Corniche Road.

For an open-air route along the waterfront, the Doha Corniche walking guide covers access and views.

Box Park, the Museum of Islamic Art and Flag Plaza are among the landmarks Visit Qatar identifies within walking distance of the port. For a museum visit, the guide to getting from Hamad International Airport to central Doha also covers onward city connections.

Parking information depends on where you’re going: parking is available outside Mina District and at Box Park, while Discover Qatar says there is no parking at the terminal and private vehicles cannot access it for the floating-hotel day visits it describes. Check which access rules apply to your visit before arranging a drop-off.

Access and timing checks before arrival

Before you go, check the official Visit Qatar and Mwani Qatar sites for current transport, access and facility details. Cruise calls and visitor arrangements can vary, so confirm the instructions for your ship or booking rather than assuming every terminal service or access rule applies to every visit.

If a passenger has impaired mobility, hearing or vision, Mwani Qatar’s port regulations require the vessel’s agent to inform Mwani Qatar or the terminal provider in advance. The agent must also arrange measures and equipment for safe embarkation, disembarkation, transport and baggage handling.
